Event Parking/Logistics

Parking in Tyndrum (race start) is the event's biggest issue, especially during the peak tourist period in August. We have to keep local businesses on side so if you have accommodation booked in Tyndrum for the Friday/Saturday evening please leave your vehicle there.

As the race is a point-to-point route we suggest one of the following plans:

STAY IN TYNDRUM BOTH FRIDAY & SATURDAY NIGHTS

Runners with booked accommodation should park at the accommodation and can book a return bus back to Tyndrum after the event on the Saturday at 6pm (extra cost)

STAY IN FORT WILLIAM ON FRIDAY & SATURDAY NIGHTS

Book the early Saturday early morning bus from Fort William to the race start in Tyndrum (extra cost). Then run back to Fort William.  The early Saturday morning buses will leave from Glen Nevis Campsite and stop at Fort William Bus Station before heading to Tyndrum and arrive in plenty of time for registration and race start.

ARRANGE TO BE DROPPED OFF AT START AND COLLECTED AT THE FINISH

This could be family/friend/club mate/support crew who drive you to the start in Tyndrum, maybe see you at Glencoe and Kinlochleven, then collect you from the finish in Fort William. Phase note they must leave Tyndrum immediately after the race start. Another option is that the person who drops you off joins the race team and helps out while you run to Fort William.

LONG TERM PARKING IN TYNDRUM

For 2025 we have again managed to arrange limited long-term parking at the Royal Hotel, Lower Station Road, Tyndrum. To use this parking you MUST have pre-booked a parking permit via your Si Entries account.  Long-term parking parking permits are very  limited and are offered on a first come – first served basis. The Parking Passes cost £5, paid via Si Entries.  Traffic marshals will be checking permits and vehicle registrations at the entrance to the Royal Hotel. If you do not have a parking permit, you will not be allowed in.  Parking Permits are available from 9pm on Sunday 6th April.

The LIMITED long-term parking permits are £5 (which is passed onto the landowner).  They are available on a first come – first served basis.

To book a permit please click HERE and EDIT your entry. Scroll down to the parking section and select YES and then enter your vehicle registration number.  Scroll down and click NEXT.

Then confirm Event Disclaimer / Terms and Condition, Si Entries Terms of Use including medical data and click SAVE.  Then pay for the permit. You should receive a confirmation email from Si Entries with details of your entry update.

SHORT TERM PARKING IN TYNDRUM
For dropping off at the race start and short-term parking (i.e. friends, family, support crews), please use the Green Welly car park, the Real Food Cafe car park, Ben Lui car park, or anywhere else it is okay to stop until the race starts at 6am. Please note that we will have traffic marshals coordinating short term parking in all of the locations listed above. If you arrive by car, on your own, and obviously dressed to run, you will not be allowed in.

If you are staying for the weekend in Tyndrum in booked accommodation, please leave your vehicle at your accommodation. Please try to car share to the event if at all possible.

FORT WILLIAM PARKING

Please use An Aird pay & display car park opposite the Nevis Centre (PH33 6FE, next to Lidl). This applies to runners getting the 4:00am coach from Fort William to the race start and also to friends and family coming to Fort William to cheer runners on at the finish. Everyone should use An Aird car park. There is NO parking for runners, friends, family, or support crews at the leisure centre this year.

Please note there is NO PARKING AT ALL at the Leisure Centre, either in front of the centre or in the parking area round the back. This includes campervans/motorhomes parking there overnight on Friday and/or Saturday night.
